An informal gathering of weavers who meet to discuss structures, designs, techniques and show and tell.

Intro - Back in early 2005, three weavers approached me and asked if we could gather the weavers together once again. It took until this past summer, but we met for the first time in June 2006. Over 18 showed up, what a thrilling time to see many long ago faces, some new faces and to talk weaving. It was such an inspiration! And that inspiration continues!

About - These gatherings are informal. No business meeting, no fees. It is a wonderful group of weavers who are sharing their art, stimulating thoughts and enhancing creativity just by being. It is extremely hard to leave a gathering and not be inspired, so very inspired. So mark your calendars! The next Weavers Anonymous is:

Contact - We meet at a different weaver's home on the 4th Saturday of any month [see below]. If you are interested in joining our gatherings, please email Melinda with your mailing address, phone number and email address and she will add you to our contact list. The hostess sends invitations with directions before each gathering.

Project - Color and Weave effect on straight twill variation is our next project. This particular concept is found in our old weaving sample notebooks in 1998 of Frances V. afghan, also in the 1995 Sept/Oct issue of Handwoven on pg 67/89, and #59 pattern in Carol Strickler's "8 Shaft Patterns" book. The decision is for everyone to weave the same pattern, but the actual item to be made, the colors and/or the fiber is the individual weavers choice. Target date due is June 2008. This is one fun project to weave!!!
